The short definition of poise is, grace, balance, elegance… control even. I don’t know about you, but, yours truly is the polar opposite of poised. I’m an unbalanced, unsteady mess most of the time. The continual battle of the heart and mind, is at times, exhausting. Sometimes the battles are so daunting that we use our weakness as a scapegoat. Sometimes we retreat and convince ourselves we’ll fight when we are ready. Then the process of self-assessing begins. We wonder if we’re strong enough, or would it just be easier to become numb and indifferent, drowning beneath the crushing water of fear and doubt. As humans I think we all go there, we somehow envision each situation, the lows and highs of both, and choose which path we truly wanna take. Sulking in our weakness is inevitable, at some point it consumes our minds, and, if not careful, we’ll stay there. When we drop the facade and embrace our weakness, and focus on Jesus – we magnify the King, and not the affliction, or the problem.

Wavering between which to follow, it’s frustrating, and scary at times. It’s the unknown, the fear of the unknown – that’s where the mind comes in to play. We begin to process our circumstance in a logistic manner, and human logistics are limited. Logically, when we measure ourselves up against a task, we shortchange not just ourselves but, we shortchange the Lord! We need to stop putting God in a box the size of our cerebral cortex and look beyond the finite frame of mind. Our mental image of the future is a mirage, a phantom illustration that echoes distortion and confusion. Looking to the Kingdom doesn’t erase the issue, or extract us from the problem… but it does broaden our tiny perspective and show what actually IS possible with Divine Intervention. Holding Jesus’ Hand in exuberant and childlike faith, covers the never ending black hole of anxiety. Leaving the weight at the Feet of the Lord, is easier said than done. It’s unpredictable how the Lord will handle whatever it is, but God IS waging the war on our behalf, and it’s empowering and exhilarating. It becomes the catalyst for conquering. A surge of adrenaline pulses through us and we gradually see the fear fading under the many possibilities and ways that God will use us for His Glory! NOW we are looking towards the heart.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding     Proverbs 3:5

Authenticity, remember? Our individual, unique quirks, capabilities, gifts, and strengths don’t measure equal – because every war is waged differently. Our earthly triumphs, completed with the help of the Lord and our warrior angels, ring sounds of victory in Heaven! Every victory and miracle done in the name of Jesus is impacting far more lives than we will ever know in this lifetime.
For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvelous are You works, and that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139: 13-14
PERSERVERANCE = PROVISION

KEEP GOING.
Our limited abilities are the absolute match for the King’s Infinite Strength.
